A sentō founded in 1932 in Kinshichō, renovated in 2020 with an in-house craft brewery.
The sentō (public bath) opened in 1932 in the Kinshichō neighbourhood and became an ‘apartment-block’ sentō in 1985. Closed from late January 2020 for a restoration by the studio Schemata Architects, it reopened on 22 August of the same year with the traditional baths alongside a sauna and its own brewery, the BATHE YOTSUME BREWERY. It is the twin sentō of Daikoku-yu, run by the same family.
Founded in 1932 (a document from 1932 itself is the oldest evidence the operator has found; an oral tradition would have it older, from the Taishō period), it became a sentō built into a block of flats in 1985. It closed from late January 2020 for a restoration by Nagasaka Jō's studio Schemata Architects, and reopened on 22 August 2020 with an identity designed also for people who do not know sentō.
ℹ️ Open 6:00–9:00 and 11:00–24:30 on both weekdays and weekends; closed on the second and fourth Monday of the month; on Wednesdays men and women swap baths.
