151 metres, the tallest skyscraper in Shikoku, above the square of the August fireworks.
The Sunport Takamatsu waterfront spreads out with piers, a square on the water and the Symbol Tower, 151.3 metres high with 30 floors, the tallest building in Shikoku, with offices, shops, event halls and a panoramic restaurant across more than 100,000 square metres. Every August it is the centre of the Sanuki Takamatsu Matsuri: in 2026 the fireworks (6,000 shells) are on the 13th, and the sō-odori, a group dance, on the 14th.
Redevelopment area on the Takamatsu waterfront, created by converting the port in front of the station: the departure point for ferries to the islands of the Inland Sea and home to the rail and bus terminal. The Symbol Tower was completed in March 2004 after two and a half years of work.
ℹ️ Square and promenade always open and free. The Symbol Tower houses offices and businesses with their own hours. 2 minutes' walk from JR Takamatsu Station.
