More than a thousand maneki-neko on shelves. They are only sold until 15:00.

The maneki-neko are stacked in their hundreds on the shelves, from a few centimetres to thirty tall. They are not a display: people who got what they asked for bring theirs back. You can buy them at the temple in nine sizes, and the counter closes at three in the afternoon.

A Sōtō school temple in Setagaya, considered the birthplace of the maneki-neko. The grounds also hold a three-storey pagoda from 2006 and the cemetery of the Ii family.

ℹ️ Five minutes on foot from Miyanosaka Station (Setagaya Line); from Gōtokuji Station (Odakyū Line) the sources give ten and fifteen minutes. Figurines and amulets are sold until 15:00.
