Roman-style baths with a hot spring from a depth of 1,600 m, amber-coloured water
The indoor and outdoor baths are fed by an amber-coloured natural spring, pumped from a depth of 1,600 metres. A Roman-style herbal steam sauna (テルマリウム) sits alongside the more usual baths with jets and carbonated water. It is less crowded than the big complexes in central Tokyo, but the price is at the high end for the category and there are few relaxation rooms.
A private hot-spring complex on the old Ōme Kaidō road in Kodaira, in western Tokyo. The name, from the Latin ‘terme’, refers to the style of the baths and of the herbal steam sauna. It uses its own natural spring, unlike the heated water of neighbourhood sentō.
ℹ️ Open 10:00–23:00, last entry 22:15; closed on the second Wednesday of the month (if it is a public holiday, the following week). Adult ticket: 920 yen on weekdays, 1,140 yen on public holidays; children 540/650 yen. There are few relaxation rooms, according to several reviews, and the price is at the high end for the category.
