It opened in June 1994 inside Toyoda Sakichi's 1911 textile factory.
The museum occupies the site of the Toyoda Automatic Loom Factory, founded in 1911 by Toyoda Sakichi as an experimental plant for the automatic loom that made him famous: the invention from which, decades later, the Toyota group was born. The brick buildings of the Taishō period are preserved as industrial heritage, and the historic looms still run live in front of visitors.
In two halls, the exhibition tells the story of mechanical weaving and that of the Toyota car, from the first prototype to recent developments.
ℹ️ 9:30–17:00 (last entry 16:30), closed on Mondays (or the next day if it is a public holiday) and at the end and start of the year.
