23 stalls in an alley, 10 minutes from the Tōbu station: gyōza, oden, Taiwanese food.
The alley brings together 23 independent stalls side by side, modelled on the old Japanese yatai, with food ranging from classic oden and yakitori to the local gyōza, by way of robatayaki and Taiwanese dishes; a short supply chain is declared, with suppliers and producers often named on site. It is a short walk from Orion-dōri, the city's evening shopping street.
Yatai (mobile street-food stalls) have a tradition in Japanese cities that goes back to the Edo period; this alley gathers a fixed selection of them inside a permanent structure, keeping the informal atmosphere of the original. It is one of the few places in Utsunomiya designed explicitly for the evening.
ℹ️ No dedicated car park: you use the paid car parks in the centre. Over the year-end and New Year period the stalls close in turns, not all at once. 20 minutes on foot from JR Utsunomiya Station, 10 minutes from the Tōbu one.
