Yamaha Innovation Road

イノベーションロード

Open on the mapwith over 1,800 wonders of Japan

A free Yamaha museum, by booking only: three sessions a day, up to two hours.

If you have booked, you go into Building 21 at Yamaha's historic headquarters and try out the instruments on display, guided by the staff: among the stations is a silent piano you play with headphones. Entry is free but by booking only, in three sessions a day of two hours each, up to 50 people per session.

The museum occupies a building inside Yamaha's Hamamatsu headquarters; the company was founded in 1887 by Yamaha Torakusu as a pipe organ repair workshop. The route brings together historic instruments and stations for trying pianos, keyboards and wind instruments, and traces the evolution of the company's musical products.

ℹ️ ⚠️ By booking only: without a booking you cannot get in. Three sessions a day of two hours each (10:00–12:00, 12:30–14:30, 14:45–16:45), up to 50 people per session; free entry, with a maximum window of two hours per person per day. Closing days follow a calendar published online, mostly Mondays and Tuesdays. By train, 2 minutes on foot from Hachiman Station on the Enshū line; by taxi about 8 minutes from JR Hamamatsu; 26 free parking spaces, 20 minutes from three motorway junctions.
