It opened in 1964, and the park stretches across two prefectures at once.
The Bandit roller coaster, opened in 1988, held at its debut the world records for speed (110 km/h) and drop (78 m) for a hybrid wood-and-steel coaster. The whole park straddles the administrative boundary.
It opened on 19 March 1964 as ‘Yomiuri Land’, with the name written differently from today; in 1968 it took its current spelling. ⚠️ It extends ‘across Inagi, Tokyo, and Kawasaki, Kanagawa’ (「東京都稲城市及び神奈川県川崎市にまたがる」): the main entrance and the address fall in Inagi, which is within Tokyo, but part of the grounds spills over into another prefecture.
ℹ️ Park admission: 1,800 yen. Day pass with rides: 5,900 yen (adults). Basic hours 10:00–17:00, with variations. From Keio-Yomiuriland Station you go up on the Sky Shuttle gondola, 5–10 minutes, 300 yen one way / 500 yen return; or by bus.
