Live Awa Odori every day, four times: there is dancing even outside the 4 days in August.
If you arrive outside the four days in August you can still see the Awa Odori: on the second floor a resident troupe takes the stage four times a day, and in the evening the ‘ren’, the city's historic groups, come in rotation. On the third floor a small museum holds costumes and instruments, and from the fifth floor a ropeway climbs in six minutes to the top of Mount Bizan.
Opened in 1999 in central Tokushima as a place to see the Awa Odori even outside the days of the actual festival, which in Tokushima city is held from 12 to 15 August (with a preview on the 11th).
ℹ️ Daytime performances at 11:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 (40 min, adults ¥1,300); evening at 20:00 (50 min, adults ¥1,600). Museum on the 3rd floor 9:00–17:00, adults ¥500. Ropeway to Mount Bizan on the 5th floor: ¥900 one way, ¥1,500 return, about 6 minutes.
