Each Shingen-mochi is wrapped by hand in five to six seconds, in full view of visitors.
A glass wall separates visitors from the production line of shingen-mochi, the little sweet of mochi and soybean flour with black molasses syrup (kuromitsu) named after Takeda Shingen: you see the whole process, from the dough to the hand-wrapping of each piece in five or six seconds. The most popular game, the ‘bag stuffing’, costs 220 yen and is recommended early in the morning, because availability is limited.
Industrial theme park of the Kikyōya confectioner, maker of Shingen-mochi, in the municipality of Fuefuki near the Ichinomiya-Misaka interchange.
