Konnyaku Park

こんにゃくパーク

Open on the mapwith over 1,800 wonders of Japan

Entry, the factory tour and the buffet of konjac dishes are all free.

Konnyaku Park is the factory and museum, open to the public, of a konjac producer (the root used to make shirataki and gelled konnyaku): the guided tour of the production process, entry and the buffet restaurant with konjac dishes are all free, which is rare among factories you can visit in Japan, where at least the buffet is usually paid for. The only thing you pay for is the hands-on workshop, where you try making konnyaku by hand.

The park is run by a konjac producer in the town of Kanra, and brings together in a single complex the factory, a guided tour of how the konjac root is processed, a buffet restaurant with dozens of konjac dishes and a shop. Entry, the factory tour and the buffet are free; you pay only for the hands-on experience of making it by hand, which can be booked separately. It has become a common stop on itineraries that combine the Tomioka Silk Mill, a few minutes away by car, with other food factories in the area.

ℹ️ Open 9:00–18:00, last entry 17:00. Entry, factory tour and buffet free. Hands-on konnyaku-making experience: the available information gives 500–1,000 yen for adults and 250–500 yen for children, lasting 30–60 minutes; check the current price list. Free car park, areas P1–P7.
