A public prefectural high school opened in 1983, in the middle of the fields of 馬郡町, between Bentenjima and the centre of Hamamatsu. It has two courses, the general one and an English-language one with forty places a year, and the motto 己の道に徹す, ‘all the way along your own path’. Among the graduates the school lists is うかみ, the author of the series.
ℹ️ It is a working school, with students inside: it can only be seen from outside. On the gate pillar there is the principal's sign forbidding entry to the grounds without permission. From Maisaka Station it is about ten minutes on foot; by bus from Hamamatsu, you get off at the 湖南高校入口 bus stop.

It is the model for ‘Maiten Prefectural High School’ (県立舞天高等学校), the school where Gabriel, Vine, Satania and Raphiel spend the days they ought to spend studying: the classroom of the first and second episodes, the canteen, the cookery room, the autumn school trip of the eighth. There are many interior shots and very few exterior ones: the school is recognisable from inside more than from its façade. It is also the school the author うかみ really attended.
