An eye-shaped acrylic sculpture, three metres by ten, made in 1969 by Yoshiko Miyashita in the underground plaza at Shinjuku's west exit. The Shinjuku Subaru Building that housed it was demolished in 2019, but the work has stayed where it was.
ℹ️ Now that the building is gone, the eye is almost always switched off (it is lit again on special occasions, such as between 24 December 2025 and 4 January 2026), so it looks darker than in the anime.
