150,000 m² of flowers on an island reached by ferry, with views over Hakata Bay.
On the north side of Noko Island, reached by a ten-minute ferry ride from Meinohama and then by bus, lie 150,000 m² of flower fields overlooking Hakata Bay: about 500,000 rapeseed plants flowering from early March to mid-April, 200 cherry trees in the same period, and about 30,000 Livingstone daisies from early April to mid-May. The park adds a small petting zoo, a retro-style lane of shops, barbecue areas and bungalows for anyone who wants to stay the night on the island.
Nokonoshima Island Park occupies the north side of Noko Island, in Hakata Bay, and is run as a seasonal flower park with panoramic views of the city of Fukuoka across the sea. Besides the fields of rapeseed, cherry trees and daisies that follow one another from March to May, the park offers family activities (a small zoo, pottery workshops, a retro-style lane of shops and equipped barbecue areas) designed to fill a whole day out of Fukuoka.
