Between 400 and 1,000 fish a day pass through the frozen tuna market, all year round.

Misaki Port is among the largest tuna landing ports in Japan: fishing boats from all over the country land their fresh catch here all year round. Since March 2018 a wholesale market dedicated to frozen tuna, the first in Japan purpose-built with advanced temperature and hygiene control, has handled between 400 and a thousand fish a day regardless of the season. At the covered market of ‘Urari Marché’, overlooking the quay, you can eat freshly landed tuna in rice bowls or grilled.

Fishing port at the southern tip of the Miura Peninsula, historically specialised in tuna fishing.

ℹ️ The ‘Urari Marché’ market opens 9:00–17:00 from Monday to Saturday and 7:00–17:00 on Sundays; no weekly closing day.
