In the basic package you throw shuriken and blow through a blowpipe; open 9:30–19:30.
A few steps from Nishiki Market, visitors put on samurai armour for a souvenir photo, then take up a wooden sword to learn the basic strokes. In the room next door you dress up as a ninja: you throw a shuriken, the ninja's star-shaped blade, at a target and blow through a blowpipe. The museum occupies two buildings in the Nakagyo district, open from 9:30 to 19:30.
The SAMURAI NINJA MUSEUM KYOTO with EXPERIENCE is a private museum of the MAIKOYA group, in Kyoto's Nakagyo district. It displays armour (甲冑), swords and ninja tools from various periods, and alongside the visit offers paid activity packages (dressing in armour, a basic sword lesson, shuriken and blowpipe throwing) designed for an international audience, with explanations in English.
