Kitaōji Rosanjin's thatched house, moved from Kita-Kamakura in 1965 with his works.
The thatched-roof farmhouse, about three hundred square metres, was the Kita-Kamakura residence of the artist and ceramicist Kitaōji Rosanjin: in 1965 it was dismantled and rebuilt here, in Kasama, giving rise to the neighbourhood known as the ‘Art Village’. The interiors remain as Rosanjin left them, and display his works in rotation alongside pieces from the Nichidō Museum collection.
Annex of the Kasama Nichidō Museum of Art, created when the Kita-Kamakura farmhouse where the ceramicist, calligrapher and gastronome Kitaōji Rosanjin lived was moved in 1965.
