Called the station closest to the sea in Japan: in autumn, a stage at sunset.
The platform, a single track with no building, looks out over the Iyo Channel with nothing in between, and that is why it is called ‘the station closest to the sea in Japan’. It has been a location for TV series (including HERO Special and Reverse), commercials and music videos. Every autumn it hosts the ‘Yūyake Platform Concert’ (夕焼けプラットホームコンサート), an open-air concert at sunset on the platform itself.
One of the stations in Japan closest to the sea: the platform looks out over the Iyo Channel.
