Open 9:00–21:00 all year round: the first Japanese public library with a Starbucks inside.
Reopened on 1 April 2013 under the management of Cultura Convenience Club, the company that runs Tsutaya, which introduced extended hours with no closing days, a Tsutaya shop and a Starbucks outlet in the reading room. The model divided public opinion: about 8,760 documents, including local history materials, were discarded before the reopening, and a batch of ten thousand books bought from a second-hand dealer included out-of-date computing manuals. The T-Card points card system sparked a national debate on the privacy of loans.
About 250 thousand visitors a year before the reform. A children's section with a pancake café opened separately in October 2017.
ℹ️ Open every day 9:00–21:00, free entry as a public library.
