A 210-metre summit: 30–40 minutes on the trail for a 360° view over the Genkai.
A low mountain of 210 metres on the Itoshima peninsula, suitable even for someone on their first hike: the shortest trail, from the Fukunoura car park, takes you to the summit in 30–40 minutes. From the top you get a 360-degree view over the Genkai Sea, the Keya area and, on clear days, Himeshima Island and Karatsu. The great basalt rock gate of Keya no Ōto is a few minutes away, but it is a separate place from the summit.
ℹ️ Trail and summit always accessible, with no ticket. Fukunoura car park (福の浦登山口駐車場): 10 spaces, free, no toilets; alternative Kaie-2 car park, 80 spaces, always open, with toilets and a box of trail maps (source: tozanguchi-p.com, a guide to mountain car parks, and kanko-itoshima.jp, the official Itoshima tourism website).
