Opened on 26 June 2009, it was the first true yatai-mura in Yamagata Prefecture: the eleven operators stay three years before moving to a permanent shop in the centre.
The stall village in the Nanoka-machi neighbourhood works as a genuine business incubator: whoever opens a stall has a three-year contract to become known and build up a clientele and capital, then leaves the spot to a new operator and moves to permanent premises in the centre. In 2025 the village celebrated sixteen years in business with a special offer (one dish and one drink for 700 yen) on the days of the month that contain the digit 7.
A village of eleven independent stalls (yatai) in the Nanoka-machi neighbourhood of Yamagata (山形県山形市七日町2丁目1-14-6), serving yakitori, ramen, yakiniku and local specialities. Opened on 26 June 2009, it was the first true yatai-mura in Yamagata Prefecture. It is run by リノベーション山形 (Renovation Yamagata) with an ‘incubation’ system: operators sign three-year contracts, during which they build up a clientele and capital, and then move to a permanent shop in vacant premises in the city centre, making room for a new operator.
ℹ️ Opening hours vary for each individual stall; the official page says to contact the chosen stall directly (management office telephone: 023-666-7604). In 2025, to mark sixteen years in business, a promotion was offered (one dish and one drink for 700 yen) on the days of the month that contain the digit 7.
