The AOMORICIDRE made here won the first international gold for a Japanese cider, in 2019.
Six triangular roofs in a row, given a Good Design Award in 2011, face the pier next to the Aomori Bay Bridge. Behind a glass wall you can see the cidery that turns local apples into AOMORICIDRE: in 2019 one of its ciders was the first Japanese one to win gold at an international competition in the field. On the upper floor you can have a tasting, and on the ground floor the market sells fruit and sweets made from apples, and seafood from the bay.
A complex of restaurants, shops and a cidery on the Aomori waterfront, two minutes from the JR station. It was created to give an outlet to the apples of the prefecture, Japan's leading producer, by turning them into cider instead of leaving them only for eating fresh.
ℹ️ Shops 10:00–19:00, restaurants 11:00–18:00 (the hours of individual businesses may vary). 2 minutes’ walk from JR Aomori Station.
