Thatched roof, a national cultural property since 1973: open only Friday to Sunday.
The custodians take visitors into the main building, under the thatched roof (kayabuki), and tell them that Yūki Hideyasu, second son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, was born here; one review remembers it as cool even in the height of summer.
The farmhouse stands in Ubumi, in the Yūtō area: the main building measures 22.1 by 12 metres, under a thatched roof. The national register of cultural properties has listed it as a 重要文化財 (Important Cultural Property) since 2 June 1973.
ℹ️ Open only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, from 9:30 to 16:30 (last entry at 16:00); closed from 28 December to 4 January and, for 2026, also on 10 and 11 October for maintenance of the facility. Tickets: adults 200 yen, high school students 100, free from age 70 and up to junior high; groups of 20 or more pay 160 yen each, of 80 or more 120; free entry for anyone with a disability certificate. From Hamamatsu Station, bus on the Ubumi-Yamazaki line to the Ubumi Ryōke bus stop, then one minute on foot heading south. The length of the visit is not published by any official source.
