The little Kurobe Gorge train climbs from Unazuki to Keyakidaira, at 599 metres above sea level, over 20.1 km of track: it is the terminus of a line opened in 1937 for the hydroelectric dams and switched to passenger service from 1953.

From Keyakidaira the track continues towards the Kurobe Dam, but it is reserved for staff and for the lottery-based guided tours of the Kurobe Gasshō section. A one-way ticket from Unazuki costs 2,480 yen for an adult, and a return ticket is valid for two days. The railway closes in winter: in 2026 the season restarted on 20 April, and since the reopening the area around the station has been restricted to the station building and the visitor centre.

Keyakidaira Station (欅平駅) is the terminus of the Kurobe Kyōkoku Tetsudō, the narrow-gauge tourist railway that runs up the gorge of the Kurobe River from Unazuki, for 20.1 km, to 599 metres above sea level. The line was opened in 1937 as a private railway of Japan Electric Power, used for transport to the hydroelectric dams; since 16 November 1953 it has also carried passengers as a local railway. The station has a lower platform for the public and an upper one reserved for staff, separated by a 200-metre difference in height and linked by a lift for the wagons. Beyond Keyakidaira the track continues towards the Kurobe Dam, but regular public access ends here.

ℹ️ The little train charges a fare: a one-way Unazuki–Keyakidaira ticket costs 2,480 yen for an adult and 1,240 yen for a child aged 6–11 (the October–November fare published by the operator); a return ticket stays valid for two days from the date of travel, and holders of a disability certificate get a 50% discount. The railway runs seasonally: in 2026 the spring–summer season began on 20 April. Since the whole line reopened, the operator warns that the area around Keyakidaira Station remains temporarily restricted to the station building and the visitor centre (欅平ビジターセンター).
