Indoor Sanrio park since 1990: price and hours change every day, and you need to book.
Everything is in a single building of four floors plus two basement levels: shows, character meet-and-greets, shops, without a single square metre outdoors. Price and hours change every day and must be checked on the website before you set off; if you arrive late, you will already find queues at the theatres and for the most popular characters, which are sometimes sold out before the morning is over.
Sanrio theme park entirely indoors, opened in 1990 in Tama: according to the operator, the second-oldest indoor theme park in the world. Everything (shows, character meet-and-greets, shops) is in a building of four floors plus two basement levels. Price, hours and whether entry must be booked change every day.
ℹ️ Hours and price vary every day: check them on the official website (puroland.jp/guide) before your visit; the site says, verbatim, ‘営業時間は日によって異なります’. The park has many changes of level inside, and several reviews advise against pushchairs. Queues that recur in reviews: waits of up to 40 minutes for the theatres (with the hall then not full at the start of the show), up to 75 minutes for the food court on busy days, and the most popular characters sold out before the morning is over on peak summer days.
