Live-action filming location (2023): the anime series is set in an imaginary empire of the Meiji-Taishō era, with no stated real-world models. Here it is the imperial palace. The 御影堂 is the emperor's bedchamber and the audience hall of Kiyoka and Takaihito; the 雲幽園 garden and the bamboo grove near the 安楽庵 host the conversation between the two childhood friends; the 通天橋 bridge, Takaihito's procession in ceremonial dress; the 釘貫門, the assault scenes; and the 山門, the finale.
