- Daiozaki Lighthouse (大王埼灯台) One of the 16 lighthouses in Japan you can climb, opened in 1927 after a shipwreck.
- Futami Okitama Jinja — Meoto Iwa (二見興玉神社・夫婦岩) The two rocks are joined by a 35-metre rope, rewoven by hand three times a year.
- Hana no Iwaya Jinja (花窟神社) No building: the 45-metre rock is the tomb of Izanami, as recorded as early as the Nihon Shoki of 720.
- Iga Ueno Castle (伊賀上野城) The stone wall is 29.7 metres high: the second highest in Japan after Osaka's.
- Iga-ryū Ninja Museum (伊賀流忍者博物館) Opened in 1964 by a scholar: the traps in the ninja house are real, not stage sets.
- Ise Jingu Geku (伊勢神宮外宮) For 1,500 years food has been offered to the goddess twice a day, at 8:00 and 15:00, without a break.
- Ise Jingu Naiku (伊勢神宮内宮) Every 20 years the shrine is rebuilt exactly the same: the last time, the 62nd, was in 2013.
- Kuwana Sōsha — Kasuga Jinja (桑名宗社・春日神社) From midnight the floats play gongs and drums all together: Guinness calls it the noisiest.
- Kuwana Station (桑名駅) It is the series' first place outside Aichi, and the gateway to Nagashima Spa Land, about fifteen kilometres away.
- Magose Pass — Kumano Kodo Iseji (馬越峠) 2 km of Edo-period stone slabs against the rains of Owase, among the most intense in Japan.
- Matsusaka Castle (松阪城跡) The 1588 walls copy and outdo those of Azuchi: today they are all that remains, in a park.
- Mikimoto Pearl Island (ミキモト真珠島) In 1893 Mikimoto Kōkichi produced the world's first cultured pearl here.
- Motoori Norinaga Museum (本居宣長記念館) The scholar worked in a room of 4 and a half tatami, with a bell of his own design.
- Nabana no Sato (なばなの里) The winter illumination has reached 7 million bulbs, in a garden that opened in 1998.
- Nagashima Spa Land (ナガシマスパーランド) Steel Dragon 2000: 2,479 metres, the longest steel roller coaster in Japan since 2000.
- Oharaimachi and Okage Yokocho (おはらい町・おかげ横丁) In 1993 the cost of rebuilding the street matched Akafuku's annual turnover.
- Onigajo (鬼ヶ城) Waves and tides have carved 1.2 km of terraced caves, the setting of a legend of demons.
- Rokkaen (六華苑) A 1913 villa in Kuwana, with its Western-style wing designed by Josiah Conder. The municipality of Kuwana documents nine filming areas in…
- Sekijuku (関宿) 1.8 km of Edo-period houses, the only ones on the Tōkaidō to have survived all together.
- Shichirimihama (七里御浜) 25 km of sand and pebbles: the longest shoreline in Japan, with turtle nests.
- Shima Spain Village (志摩スペイン村) The Pyrenees roller coaster runs for 1,234 metres: a piece of Spain that opened in 1994.
- Shinmei Shrine — Ishigami-san (神明神社・石神さん) Women write a single wish, never two, and leave it in front of the sacred stone.
- Tado Taisha (多度大社) In the Ageuma Shinji a horse climbs a two-metre wall: a rite since 1338, revived in 1601.
- Takada Honzan Senjuji (高田本山専修寺) Head temple of the Takada school of Jōdo Shinshū, in Tsu. The 御影堂 is a National Treasure.
- Toba Aquarium (鳥羽水族館) It is home to the only dugong in captivity in Japan, which arrived from the Philippines in 1987.
- Tsu Hachiman-gū (津八幡宮) Since 1636 the Tōjin Odori has paraded here, a dance that imitates the Korean envoys visiting the shogun.
